Ball Check Valve

A ball check valve is a component that is crucial for the functioning of the entire installation. Such proposals are primarily designed for use in wastewater treatment plant networks. The construction and arrangement of such a component allow for the preparation of a very tight installation that will be effectively protected against all kinds of failures. Within our offer, you can take advantage of proposals from the most esteemed manufacturers who ensure the use of top-quality materials. The construction of ball check valves available in the GTM Process Valves assortment includes robust seals, as well as strong and durable cast iron coated with special coatings that guarantee additional protection.

Ball check valve – principle of operation

Ball check valves primarily operate thanks to the appropriate loading of the ball. In such components, there are polyurethane balls with specified weights, which are adjusted to minimize vibrations and damage. The principle of operation of such a valve involves the movement of the ball up and down, allowing for the free flow of sewage in the installation. The entire chamber of the check valve is prepared so that the ball is introduced smoothly into the socket, and the entire assembly simultaneously seals itself to prevent the flow of the working fluid in the opposite direction to the expected one. A crucial aspect in this case is the proper selection of the ball weight.

Application of ball check valves

Ball check valves for sewage are used in installations within treatment plants, where they facilitate the smooth flow of the medium in a specific direction. Such products must be characterized by high tightness and safe operation. It is essential to pay attention to their quality of construction – inappropriate solutions pose a risk of malfunctions, which can lead not only to damage to the installation but also to the generation of pollutants requiring subsequent removal. The purchase of properly selected ball check valves enables secure and reliable operation, ensuring the calm and efficient use of the entire installation.

Sizes and types of ball check valves

Depending on the requirements, a ball check valve can have different sizes – it should be chosen based on the diameter of the pipe to which this component will be connected. The most commonly selected products include a 1-inch (DN 25) ball check valve, a 3/4-inch (DN 20) ball check valve, or a 1/2-inch (DN 15) ball check valve. For larger pipes, a flanged ball check valve will be suitable. It is worth noting that the product will function properly only when connected to the installation without any leaks.

Design characteristics of ball check valves

A ball check valve can be made of ductile iron or stainless steel. Elements in this category are designed so that their construction is fully self-cleaning, and the full and smooth opening ensures low pressure loss combined with high tightness.
