Solenoid valves

Valves controlled by electric current using an electromagnet are called solenoid valves. Their main advantage is efficient control of the flow of liquids or gases through the valve. It is most often used to control liquids such as water or oil, and various gases, including flammable gases.

Description: solenoid valves
Diameters: DN8 – DN250
Connection: Male thread, weld end, flange
Body: Brass, stainless steel, cast iron
Seal: NBR, FKM, PTFE, other on request
Operation: Direct acting, indirect acting, servo controlled
Voltage: 230V AC, 24V AC, 48V AC, 110V AC, 12V DC, 24V DC

Producers: Ceme, Shako, Asco Numatics, Danfoss, Buerkert, GSR, Madas

High-quality solenoid valves are characterized by a long service life and low failure rate. However, it is worth remembering that the efficiency of gas or liquid flow control largely depends on a properly selected solenoid valve. These components combine the design of analog (mechanical) valves with an actuator controlled by an electromagnet, whose task is to open and close the flow using electric current of appropriate voltage. Among them, one can distinguish directly acting valves, indirectly acting valves, and servo-controlled valves. On the market, there are solenoid valves controlled by direct current or alternating current. Depending on the type, they use different connections: flanged, internally threaded, or push-in fittings. In the GTM Process Valves product range, you can find solenoid valves from renowned brands such as GSR, Ceme, Shako, Danfoss, Buerkert, Madas, and Asco Numatics. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the specifications of the products available in our assortment.

Solenoid valve – application

Do użytku indywidualnego najczęściej znajdują zastosowanie w nawadnianiu zieleni we wszelkiego rodzaju zraszaczach i innych urządzeniach do nawadniania roślin ogrodowych czy trawników. Swoje szerokie zastosowanie zawdzięczają prostemu, aczkolwiek skutecznemu mechanizmowi działania opierającemu się o proste procesy elektromagnetyczne.

How to choose the right solenoid valve?

Depending on the location and specifications of the system in which the solenoid valve is to be installed, whether in industrial settings or in a household installation, it is necessary to first determine the current required to energize the solenoid valve (whether alternating or direct) and the value required for proper operation. Solenoid valves powered by direct current coils are less susceptible to piston wear and are characterized by quiet operation. On the other hand, those powered by alternating current are used where there is high pressure in the supply fluid. Their drawback is the rather loud operation and the specific buzzing sound they produce. It is important to pay special attention to the type of current powering the solenoid valve, as connecting it to a different type of current or an inappropriate value will result in coil damage. Choosing the right solenoid valve is not an easy task, and relying solely on one’s knowledge can be challenging, so it is advisable to consult experts in the field or the manufacturer of the solenoid valves. We are available to our customers, providing professional advice and assistance in selecting the appropriate model.
