Globe Check Valve – characterisitc

Globe check valves are a product category that plays a crucial role in any pressurized installation. Primarily, they ensure the smooth flow of a specific medium in only one direction, blocking flow in the opposite direction. In some cases, the placement of a globe check valve in the installation is fundamental to ensuring its proper functioning. Threaded globe check valves and flanged globe check valves safeguard the entire system from malfunctions and protect against troublesome leaks. In addition to the classic globe check valves, there are also ball check valves, diaphragm check valves, and swing check valves that further distinguish themselves. The characteristics of these products make them widely used in various types of installations.

Construction of Globe Check Valve

The globe check valve owes its name to a specific construction, with the most crucial element being the closing part. This part takes the form of a globe with a metal or rubber seal, attached to the movable stem of the valve. The globe alternately closes and opens, allowing the working fluid to flow only in one direction. The construction and operation of check valves are relatively simple, which makes damages or failures rare. Components of this type exhibit high durability and reliability in various installations.

Globe Check Valve with load

Individual models of globe check valves may slightly differ in terms of construction or operation. The basic classification includes globe check valves without a load and with a load. In the latter case, valves are equipped with an additional element, such as a spring, which assists the operation of the entire component during the opening and closing of the flow. Another classification based on control includes valves with manual, electric, and pneumatic actuators. The pneumatic ones are used in the most demanding environments where manual supervision of the component’s operation is challenging.

Globe Check Valve – industrial use

Many companies commonly utilize globe check valves. The application of such products is widespread in the industry. Globe check valves are frequently encountered in hydraulic installations. For the flow of hot water, brass globe check valves are most commonly used, while for cold water, rubber-sealed globe check valves are preferred. Among other areas of application for globe check valves, there is a broad range of uses in energy and district heating systems.
