Safety Valves

Currently, safety valves are primarily installed in boilers. Such a component is practically obligatory regardless of whether we’re talking about an automatic or gas boiler design. A properly selected safety valve protects against various failures and issues, including pressure surges. This translates into confidence in the efficient operation of the boiler, as well as reducing the risk of various unexpected situations. A sudden increase in pressure can lead to the failure of the entire installation or leakage, which entails numerous dangers. This element constantly monitors the pressure level, remaining in the appropriate position until the system can operate smoothly – therefore, it’s definitely worth investing in a suitable central heating safety valve.

Hydraulic safety valve

The water safety valve is designed to control the pressure of fluids in a hydraulic system. Its goal, similar to that of a boiler, is to maintain the appropriate pressure value. Such solutions can be found in many systems – water safety valves are particularly installed in installations such as boilers, tanks, or pipelines.

Regulated safety valve

Regulated safety valves are designed not only for water installations but also for those utilizing compressed air and non-toxic, non-flammable gases. A properly selected regulated safety valve enables controlled operation of installations under various conditions. With its use, it’s possible to release excess air when the pressure level in the entire system is too high. This type of valve can be found, among others, in air compressors.

Safety Valve – Operating Principle

We already know what a safety valve is used for – but how does such a component work? The answer to this question is directly related to its construction: the design is prepared to detect pressure surges in the installation. If the pressure in the pipes increases, it acts on the appropriate element, which triggers the action of the spring opening the valve. This remains open until the pressure in the installation is equalized.

Types and Sizes of Safety Valves

When purchasing a safety valve, it’s important to pay attention to the type and pressure of the fluid in the installation. Its capacity is crucial, which refers to the amount of fluid passing through the valve within a specified time. The most commonly used value is 6 bars, but solutions adapted to pressures ranging from 1.5 to 7 bars can be found on the market. A typical safety valve maintains full efficiency at temperatures not exceeding 100°C. However, if there is a sudden increase in heat, it may indicate a malfunction of the device itself, which can quickly lead to damage to the entire installation.

Another important aspect is the method of connection and the diameter of the pipe. Usually, the latter factor is the most important when making a purchase – the safety valve must be perfectly matched to the specifics of the particular installation. If everything is properly coordinated, the entire composition will ensure safe operation for years without sudden failures or damage. In our offer, you can find valves ranging from DN 8 (1/4″) to DN 400 (16″).

The color and method of mounting the safety valve

When making a purchase, it’s also worth paying attention to the colors of safety valve heads. They play a significant role in identifying installations: blue ones are used for systems with cold water, while red ones are used for hot water. This allows for quickly locating the necessary installation when needed and avoiding accidental mistakes during various tasks.

All safety valves are installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions, which typically direct towards areas near the heat source on the supply line. In the case of safety valves, correct installation is extremely important for the reliable operation of the entire installation and reducing susceptibility to damage and failures.
