Soft-sealed Gate Valve
A gate valve with a rubber wedge is a component designed to meet the needs of water installation systems. Such products are entirely made from a material called ductile iron – an alloy of iron, carbon, and several different elements. Consequently, they exhibit high resistance to wear, stretching, vibrations, as well as adverse weather conditions.
The vulcanized wedge itself is surrounded by high-quality rubber, while the nuts enabling the use of this component are made from pressed brass. This material also must feature effective protection against various factors. The screws connecting the body and cover are coated with a special substance, enhancing the soft-sealed gate valve’s better protection. The proper execution method translates to significant benefits during usage. Among the crucial construction elements is the upper plug surrounded by a cleaning seal, which enhances the stem’s tightness and prevents contaminants from entering the system.
Soft-sealed wedge gate valve – applications
The soft-sealed wedge gate valve works excellently in water and industrial installations, as well as in gas utilities. These components fit tightly within networks that transport various fluids, ranging from potable water to chemical substances. They can also handle sanitary sewage and industrial waste. Due to their construction, such a component allows for installation and safe operation in both aboveground and underground systems, whether located outdoors or indoors.
Soft-sealed gate valves in our offer
Many different types of soft-sealed gate valves are available on the market. In our GTM Process Valves assortment, we offer products compliant with PN-EN 19 and PN-EN 1074 standards, ranging in sizes from DN 40 (1.1/2″) to DN 1000 (40″), with operating parameters confirmed by PZH, IGNiG, CE (PED 97/23/EC), and WRAS certifications. Our products operate at temperatures starting from -20°C, with the upper limit dependent on the type of substance passing through the soft-sealed gate valve. For gas, it reaches up to +60°C, while for water, it goes up to +110°C. Our available products find application in gas utilities, water distribution, and various industries. The price of the gate valve depends on its type, size, and the intended application for which the solution is designed.
Installation of soft-sealed gate valves
Each soft-sealed gate valve allows operation in both vertical and horizontal positions. However, it’s important to note that the method of installation somewhat depends on the company that manufactured the specific product. Installation should always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Key technical data, such as size, exact dimensions, number of rotations to open, and the valve’s weight, should be taken into consideration. Additionally, the instructions should include a detailed description of the valve’s construction, facilitating the correct installation of the entire unit. Properly installed, a soft-sealed gate valve ensures safe and reliable operation for many years.
