Electric actuators for ball valves and butterfly valves
In GTM Process Valves offer, you can find a wide range of various types of butterfly valves and ball valves, which are actuated by electric drives. Electric drives are devices that allow for the automatic opening and closing of valves using electrical current. They are used to control the flow of liquids or gases in various systems, such as heating, cooling, industrial, or water and sewage infrastructure. For their proper operation, it is necessary to utilize an electrical power source, which not only drives the component of the system but also influences the continuity of the installation’s operation. There are many variants available, differing in power, efficiency, mounting method, as well as additional equipment, which may be crucial for the correct functioning of a given system.

Electric actuators for valves
Ball valves are primarily used in the gas, energy, and paper industries. Their main task is to fully open or close the flow as well as regulate the flow of the medium. They can be operated remotely using a special system that requires the use of a drive adapted to various types of valves. GTM Process Valves offers many solutions to operate ball valves, butterfly valves, and others.
We can distinguish mainly quarter-turn, multi-turn, and linear actuators, which are electrically driven. Such actuators consist of an electric motor, motor controller, and mechanical gearbox, for example, planetary. Brushless electric motors are often used, offering even greater efficiency. Importantly, each actuator is equipped with multicolored LED indicators, which signal information about the motor’s status. The valve actuator is usually powered in the range of 24–500 VAC/VDC.

Similarly to valve actuators, various parameter solutions can be utilized for throttle actuators. Actuators designed to drive such elements feature compact dimensions. Most actuators for butterly valves are on/off solutions, which means they can only be turned off or on, without the possibility of changing modes or operating characteristics. An important aspect is their wide operating temperature range – they can handle conditions from -20 to even 50°C. Additionally, the proposals from GTM Process Valves stand out for their quiet and economical operation (230 VAC). The cycle time for most throttle actuators and valves is approximately 2 minutes. Throttle and valve actuators are properly protected – available models come with an IP67 or IP68 water and dustproof certification
