How do heated jacket valves work?

Heated jacketed valves utilize a unique combination of two main components – the valve mechanism and a specially designed heating jacket.

The valve mechanism controls the flow of substance, which can be liquid, gas, or steam. Different types of valves, such as ball valves or flanged valves, have their specific methods of flow control. For example, a ball valve contains a ball with a hole that, when rotated, allows for a greater or lesser flow of medium.

The heating jacket surrounds the valve and conducts heat to the flowing substance. It is connected to a heat source and can be made of various materials that have high heat conductivity.

During operation, the heating jacket heats the medium flowing through the valve, allowing to maintain a constant temperature regardless of external conditions. This is particularly important in industrial processes where precise temperature control is crucial.
